help on how to find people?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I’m trying to find a good friend of mine who lives in Monterrey Mexico. I live in Ecuador so I can’t go to Monterrey and pick up a phonebook to see where she lives. Is there any chance that I can find my friend’s address on the internet?

Who is your fav. Striker of the FMF? (Wildcard)?

Friday, September 18th, 2009

I decided to make a tournament of the strikers of the FMF.
I got two strikers from each team and you get to vote on who is the best! To make even brackets I had to make this wildcard. Out of these 8 players, only 4 will make it through. Chose 1 player from each bracket.

Bracket 1:
Jared Borgetti (Monterrey)
vs
Hugo Rodallega (Necaxa)

Bracket 2:
Marcelo Guerrero (San Luis)
vs
Luis Angel Landin (Morelia)

Bracket 3:
Itamar Batista (Jaguares)
vs
Alvaro Gonzales (Puebla)

Bracket 4:
Hector Raul Mancilla (Toluca)
vs
Bruno Marioni (Pachuca)

I’ll keep this open until Friday Night, 8pm Pacific time.
I will be making the full brackets after this wildcard. You’ll see Cabanas, Suazo, Arellano and so forth, so dont worry about it!
RESULTS:
Bracket 1
Borgetti 12 votes (Winner)
Rodallega 7 vots

Bracket 2
Guerrero 13 votes (Winner)
Landin 6 votes

Bracket 3
Batista 15 votes (Winner)
Gonzales 4 votes

Bracket 4
Mancilla 8 votes
Marioni 11 votes (Winner)

show some love for Otis Redding?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Otis Redding (September 9, 1941 – December 10, 1967) was an American soul singer. According to the website of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (where he was inducted in 1989), Redding’s name is “synonymous with the term soul, music that arose out of the black experience in America through the transmutation of gospel and rhythm and blues into a form of funky, secular testifying.”

Would You Spell It “Willy” or “Willie”?

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Here’s the situation. I’m tagging a photo of my grandfather, who’s 100% Mexican, from Monterrey Mexico. Everyone calls him [Willy, Wille] as a nickname. He got the nickname working in a Texas railroad/construction crew because his African-American co-worker could not pronounce his Mexican nickname Luis (though his true name is Natividad).

So here’s the rub. If my cousins and uncles see the name spelled willy or willie, they may think I’m misspelling it, cuz by Spanish rules, double-l (ll) is pronounced as a “y.” So they would think I’m saying “Wiyi.” Just think “llama”: the true Spanish pronunciation is “yama.” I’m sure they would want to spell it Wily (with just one l). I’ve a cousin Emily whose nickname is [Millie], and that’s how I’ve always spelled it when writing to her, but she spells it the Spanish way, “Mily.” I hate that kind of spelling. So what do you think, “Willy” or “Willie.” They may not understand the “-ie” ending, because they might think it’s 3 syllables: wi-yi-e.
Yes, they do know he got his nickname in the US, given to him by an American. Yes, I agree with you, if it was an American who named him, it should follow the American spelling. They pronounce it that way anyway.
Except of course, when my uncles in Mexico pronounce it, it sounds more like “Weelee.” =)

If the Plaintiff’s attorney has a new hearing to censure a defendant should a co-defendant attend?

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Basically this is a new hearing that has been added to the schedule having to do with the main defendant not answering interrogatories. They are asking for $960 from the main defendant. Papers were filed to this effect requesting this new date. Is there any requirement for all of the defendants to show or even a benefit or will the plaintiffs counsel can only use this hearing for this issue? The other defendants do not have any direct issue with this or contact with the main defendant. Thanks for the information as always.

This is in California Superior Court Monterrey County but I will take general answers on this as well.

what can I do about my girlfriend’s boss making sexual remarks to her?

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

My girlfriend works at Monterrey’s Mexican Grill. I’ve heard several things that he has said to the other girls that work there and finally he said something about my girlfriend. I’d like to confront in my own way but I don’t want to get into trouble. If there is someone who knows a website or number to call or anything that can help me shut this guy down PLEASE let me know……thanks.
I appreciate all your answers…well….most of them. But the thing is HE is the owner and I doubt he really cares if his wife knows….He’s a dirty filthy rich mexican who probably doesn’t care. And my girlfriends mom would just want her to quit and forget about the whole thing but I want to shut this prick down.

Need change of pace, where should I move to?

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

I’m only in my twenties, a Kentucky native, yet find it much easier to make friends from outside of Ky. Even though I have a hometown, I’m not a native of it; even though I’ve lived all over Ky., I don’t feel a sense of welcome or belonging b/c I’m not part of a “real hometown group.” I tried living in Louisville, but it just doesn’t like outsiders, either.

I’d like some place friendlier, with less unpredictable weather, a not-so-unreasonable cost of living, healthy job market, good singles scene, and close to arts, culture, and nightlife (I enjoy cosmopolitan clubs, techno, but not country “git ‘r done” crap.) I must say, I have a slight Ky. accent, though.

Where am I considering?
Texas is my first choice!
-Dallas
-Fort Worth
-Austin
-San Antonio
-Houston

Then,
-Atlanta
-Charlotte
-Raleigh
-New York
-San Diego
-San Luis Obispo, CA
-Santa Barbara
-Monterrey, CA
-Seattle

No interest at all in the midwest, even CHI.

Thanks! (I know I’ve already asked this.)
I’ve only been to Texas for a week, back in ‘01. But I fell in love it during that short span and didn’t want to leave. I’ve missed it since!

I Always Want Subway! Yum! What Do You Get On Your Subway Sub Sandwiches?

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

What kind of bread? How big? What do you get on it? You need to try mine, it’s seriously good.

Footlong Monterrey Cheddar bread, American cheese, toast that (Lightly, when I forgot to say lightly it ended up rock hard, but I got a free sandwich!) Lettuce, onions, salt and pepper, and ranch. Yummy!

Are you addicted to Subway, like me?
Yes, mine is good! It may sound a bit different, but GOD is it good….. Promise me you’ll get it on your next trip to Subway, home of Heaven’s angels’ favorite sandwiches…… They like it because it reminds them OF Heaven….. Heavenly…… Subway….. (Mouth waters)
